Hello! You remember in the 15th of March we reported in this post that Blackberry Messenger will be coming to Android on summer? Now after long consideration, Blackberry has finally and we at Mymobnet! Authoritatively gathered that Blackberry Messenger also known as BBM will be available for download to both Android and iOS devices from September 21, this week!
This is great news, isn’t it? Yes it is for many. I remember how I longed to have my Blackberry Curve 3 back, not for its (poor) camera and hardware features when compared to the phones price then, but for my long BBM contacts that I will no longer ping! So to many like, we shall gladly download and install BBM for Android from September 21 for FREE! Yes for FREE!
Those who followed Mymobnet! posts by E-mail subscription, Facebook and Tech updates around the world already know that Blackberry is facing a very hard time these days. It is now reported that even Windows phones now out sales Blackberry phones, infact Blackberry is seeking for a buyer of their company!
According to the Vice President for BBM at Blackberry, Andrew Bocking:
“With more than a billion Android, iOS, and BlackBerry smartphones in the market, and no dominant mobile messaging platform, this is absolutely the right time to bring BBM to Android and iPhone customers.”
What right time is Mr. Andrew speaking of? It is sadly a bad time for Blackberry.
At our end here at Mymobnet! We welcome this new development as we can’t wait to install BBM to our devices but we remind Blackberry that their recent move shall be an official confirmation of the middle of the demise of the once famous RIM’s Blackberry.
