Now that Smart watches seem to take over whatever is called a wrist-watch in the future, we have taken a great deal of time at Mymobnet! to examine closely what can be obtained from the leading manufacturers of Smart watches especially those powered by the Android Operating System. We have written about the Burge 17 Smartwatch and also the famous Samsung Galaxy Gear watch, we consider in this post what and when Tecno and Gionee Smartwatches shall hit the Market!
Back in the early 2000’s, I remember how Electronic watches promised to take over Analogue watches but that is not the case today. Whatever future of Watches shall be, we are happy that Android Smartwatches has come to stay.
But the problem with the Smartwatches in the market may not be something you’d expect me to write, but unfortunately the problem is the cost!
Many potential buyers out there in Europe and especially the developing nations cannot afford to spend about N50,000 as Samsung and Co. Want to make us do, and you know what? Many don’t fancy a great and expensive watch without Gold plating.
Now many Chinese Electronics manufacturing Companies know about this ‘weakness’ of Western manufacturers. They would rather employ cheaper labour and manufacture products that are of great and of low cost but only with the necessary features that to put a whole lot of features in an unaffordable device. This is exactly what we saw when Gionee launched the far cheaper Dream D1 to counter the Galaxy S3 and Tecno introduced the n3 the kick out the Samsung Galaxy duo.
Today, many need a Smartwatch but can’t afford it but we know that soon, Chinese companies like Tecno and Gionee shall come and launch a N7,000 Smartwatch with the same basic features of the Samsung and co. Versions. As for when this shall happen, we know –it is in the future!
